In terms of similarities, the Pro and Ultra sport a 6.81-inch curved AMOLED display with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision enhancement, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Under the hood of both models is the aforementioned Snapdragon 888 chipset, paired with RAM of up to 12GB and storage of up to 256GB (512GB on the Ultra). Powering them is the same 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired and wireless fast charging support that is capable of topping up its capacity from nought to hundred at around 37 minutes.
Other than that, both phones also feature Android 11 via Xiaomi’s MIUI system, dual Harman Kardon speakers, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity. They are also dust and water resistant, with a rating of IP68.
In terms of imaging, the Mi 11 Pro is equipped with a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN2 1/1.12-inch sensor, which features a large pixel size of 1.4μm, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Dual Pixel Pro AF, Stagger HDR, ISO fusion, and is also capable recording videos of up to 8K resolution. Complementing it is a periscope telemacro module that can zoom 5x optically and 50x digitally. Completing the phone’s triple lens setup is a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. Meanwhile, housed in a punch-hole cutout in the front display is a 20MP selfie camera.
The Ultra variant, meanwhile, also features the same 50MP main and 20MP selfie cameras. But what sets it apart from the Pro model are its telemacro and ultra-wide shooters, both of which are 48MP Sony IMX586 sensors. The tele lens is capable of zooming in at 5x optically and 120x digitally. All three cameras feature 64 dToF laser autofocus, as well as Xiaomi’s advanced low-light imaging technology.
Lastly, the Mi 11 Ultra also features a small secondary display on its rear camera island which can function as a viewfinder – enabling users to utilise the phone’s main or ultra-wide cameras for selfies. Xiaomi noted that the screen can also be used to display other information such as notification icons, battery level and so on.
The pricing for the new Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro starts from RMB 4,999 (~RM 3,152) for the 8GB+128GB configuration, while the Ultra starts at RMB 5,999 (~RM3,783) for 8GB + 256GB.
