The duo comes with the same 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Besides that, housed in the waterdrop notch on the display is a 44MP front-facing camera with OIS capability, which is useful for vloggers or capturing selfies in low light. Further enhancing your selfie shots are dual front-facing spotlights situated on the V21 and V21e’s upper bezel – the first smartphones to ever feature this innovation.
In terms of internal hardware, the Vivo V21 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, while the V21e comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. Both of Vivo’s new handsets are equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Most interestingly, if you so wish, you can actually increase the RAM amount to up to 11GB by utilising the onboard Extended RAM function. What it does is convert 3GB of available storage memory on the Vivo V21 series into RAM – a handy feature if you require a boost for gaming or other purposes.
Other than that, both handsets feature Android 11 via Vivo’s own Funtouch OS 11 interface, and also dual Hi-Res certified stereo speakers situated on the top and bottom. Powering the V21 and V21e is a 4,000mAh battery with 33W flash charge via USB-C.
Photography-wise, the Vivo V21 duo features a triple camera setup which consists of a 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro sensor. As mentioned earlier, the primary camera on either handsets are equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS) technology to eliminate camera shakes while shooting photos or videos.
The new Vivo V21 smartphones will be on sale in Malaysia on 5 May 2021, with pre-orders open starting today. The Dimensity 800U-equipped V21 retails at RM1,599, while the Snapdragon 720G fitted V21e is priced at RM 1,299. (Source: Vivo Malaysia [Official website 1, 2] [YouTube])
