In essence, the second folding smartphone of the company will have a 6.7-inch display when unfolded. This measures in at about the size of the Galaxy S10 5G. When folded, it shrinks down in size into a very pocketable square, much like a traditional clamshell phone. And since it’s a clamshell foldable smartphone, it will inevitably be compared to the Motorola Razr as well.
New details on the phone include the fact that it will have a punch hole cutout for the front-facing camera. This sits in the middle of phone’s top side, much like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and its Plus-sized variant. On the back of the phone, or outside when folded, it will sport an unspecified dual camera setup. The second generation Fold will also be thinner and more affordable than the first. Samsung is also reportedly getting American designer Thom Browne to ensure that the Galaxy Fold 2 looks more aesthetically pleasing to the non-tech crowd. All that said, there’s an important caveat. Whether the Galaxy Fold 2 gets made or not will depend of the commercial success of the upcoming, first-generation Galaxy Fold. (Source: Bloomberg via CNET)
