Both flagship smartphone lineups are often similar in terms of specifications, with the main difference being the Note line having a stylus. Blass tweeted that there is a possibility that Samsung will release an S-series smartphone with the S-Pen. He also suggested that it may be called “Galaxy One”, among other possible names.
Phonearena also reported that a Samsung representative, Ms Jeong had expressed that the next generation S-series might not be named the Galaxy S11. She mentioned that the word combination of “Galaxy”, “S” and “Eleven” together is “too long”. If the leaks are accurate, it may also leave a gap in the usual schedule of two flagship launches in a year. With the Galaxy Fold being Samsung’s next-generation smartphone, the gap might be filled by the Galaxy Fold’s successor instead.
The idea of Samsung merging both its flagship series is quite unlikely. At least, this is considering what the company has been doing for almost a decade. But given that Evan Blass has been a reliable source of leaks and rumours, who claims to have obtained the information from “a solid source”, it is plausible that Samsung might really make the move.
