Around the 7:18 mark on the trailer, Insomniac Games showcases a very nonconventional way the DualSense trigger buttons are used. When aiming, you can pull down a trigger, presumably L2, half way for a primary fire mode. Pull it all the way down, and you get access to a secondary fire mode. Incidentally, this is also a feature found in the PS5 title Returnal. The feature itself doesn’t actually sound too groundbreaking in its implementation. In fact, it should be possible to do this with controllers as old as the DualShock 2. But with the DualSense having variable resistance to its triggers, it’s probably a more practical implementation.   A game can make it so that the first half of the trigger pull provide little resistance. And then make it stronger beyond the halfway mark, indicating the activation of the secondary fire. And we’ll probably see this feature more often in later PS5 exclusive games. As for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart itself, naturally it features Rivet, the female Lombax we’ve seen before. There are also new versions of old planets from previous games, a common but still good throwback. The game itself is set to release on 11 June 2021. (Source: PlayStation)
