Jon Burton, who founded Traveller’s Tales, and has worked on many LEGO games, made the claim in his Coding Secrets YouTube channel. It’s a six-minute long video that goes into some technical detail. But the basic takeaway is that because the alternate dimension bits are so small, and reuse assets, they don’t need a fast loading SSD. And for the most part, he is probably right, in the sense that world switching is only really a thing in one level....

The rumour comes via TweakTown, which states that the company may raise wafer prices by 25% year-over-year. This will mean that its customers, most of which are big name companies like AMD, Apple, Intel and Nvidia, among others, will be paying more to have their chips made. In turn, this will likely see the raised prices getting pushed to the consumer. The increase in prices may have something to do with the company building a new plant in the US....

As reported by Hot Hardware, the company is defending itself by saying that it doesn’t need to infringe on the patents of others and that it already invests billions of dollars each year to “independently develop its world-class, leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing technologies”. Earlier yesterday, GlobalFoundries filed a patent suit against the rival semiconductor company, both in courts within the US and Germany. In total, the lawsuits cover 16 patents, ranging from products using TSMC’s 28nm, 16n, 12nm, 10nm, and 7nm process nodes....

Home Easy offers both HouseOwner and HouseHolder insurance. In case you’re confused, HouseOwner covers your residential building (physical house), including garages, walls, and gates. In contrast, HouseHolder covers things that are in your house, like furniture, television sets, and personal clothing. The insurance firm asserts that Home Easy’s HouseOwner plan offers over 40% savings in premium costs at present. To prove it’s the cheapest in the market, the company promises to refund the price difference if customers can find a cheaper option on another website from now until 31 August 2021....

Of course, as this is an offer that’s directly related to the MCO, it’s only valid until 31 March. Though, you must top up a minimum of RM5 to be eligible for the bonus credit. Also, you’ll only get the extra credit for your first top up within this period. One important thing to note is that the extra credit is also capped at RM10. According to Engadget, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK is preparing to launch an investigation into the purchase. Before that, however, the group is asking third parties to provide them with their views and opinions about the deal. The CMA says that it wants to look at how NVIDIA’s takeover of ARM could impact both the pricing and quality of products. Specifically, it wishes to determine if, after the takeover, ARM has any incentive to “withdraw, raise prices, or reduce the quality of its IP licensing services to NVIDIA’s rivals....

According to the salvaged information by the German tech website, the Fossil watches will arrive in 42 or 44 millimeter sizes, along with a standard 1.28-inch OLED 416 x 416 pixel display. In our testing, attempting to take a screenshot of a View Once on an iPhone will result in an image with a page that says “Screenshot Blocked” instead of the image displayed. On the other hand, doing the same thing on an Android device will result in the app preventing the phone from taking a screenshot entirely. WhatsApp warns that if the person on the other end is using an older version of the app, they could still take a screenshot of your View Once media....
