According to the company’s blog post, the NVMe HDD was used in a demonstration to show off a proof-of-concept 2U JBOD and paired with an experimental SSD capable of using all three major protocols: SAS, SATA and NVMe. All over a “native NVMe port” and without the use of bridges too. For context, current HDDs are barely able to achieve saturation on a single PCIe 2.0 link, to the point that the 6Gbps from SATA or 12Gbps via SAS may not even be enough in time....

That said,the version that we are getting is the US version, the Sega Genesis Mini. Those who are familiar with the Mega Drive will also know that there’s a US version called the Genesis. This particular one comes with controllers with three buttons instead of the usual six. SNK announced its console endeavours via Twitter, which is quite lacking in terms of solid details. It claims that it’s gaming machine will be “A system to bridge the needs between passionate fans and console gaming enthusiasts”. As it is, the SIE patent pretty much describes the DualShock 4 back button accessory. Drawings from the patent even look exactly like the existing accessory. This highly redundant patent may simply be the renewal of the idea, applying it from the DualShock 4 to the DualSense....

According to local reports, Sony is expected to cut a further 60 positions from its Swedish office. This is in addition to the 200 people it already laid off at the end of last year and completed in March of this year. For those among you living under a rock, Spotify removed all presence of its widget from the Android ecosystem back in August and without a clear reason. Needless to say, the move was an unpopular one among its users, especially those who have clearly gotten used to its convenience. The announcement was made by a Spotify community manager in reply to one of the forum threads regarding the widget. In addition to the widget revival, Spotify also announced that it will be buffing the widget with performance and visual improvements....

The unique feature in question here is what Spotify calls Duo Mix. It’s essentially another automatically generated playlist, but it takes into account the songs played by the two people in the Premium Duo subscription. The playlist is populated with songs that Spotify thinks both will enjoy, and even includes “Chill” and “Upbeat” options on the mobile app if you need a change of mood. Of course, if you don’t want to make use of the automatically generated playlist, you are entitled to make your own....

The company noted that both free and premium Spotify users are able to utilize the service on ATLAS IHU. More specifically, the latest iPadOS 16 beta brings Stage Manager to iPad Pro models running the A12X and A12Z chips. This means the third generation and later 12.9-inch iPad Pros, and all 11-inch iPad Pro models. The iPad Air 5 remains the only non-Pro model to have an M1 chip, and the Stage Manager feature by extension. That being said, these older iPad Pro models will have a slightly limited version of the Stage Manager feature, in that there’s no external display support....
