In order to cater to the increasing demand of data from consumers as well as the imminent arrival of the 5G technology, Maxis apparently has merged its fibre and mobile network into one giant superhighway with multiple alternative routes. To make sure that the superhighway is able to deliver data without any hiccups, the telco has also implemented a smart network traffic control system into it. According to Maxis, the system is able to predict potential network spikes based on previous data and automatically reroute the traffic to guarantee enough bandwidth and uninterrupted connectivity in anticipation of such incidents....

ORIGINAL STORY (4:38 PM): Maybank2U users have been reporting difficulties in accessing or utilizing services provided by the popular online banking platform at the moment. The same also applies to debit card payments, ATMs, Self Service Terminals (SSTs), and banking at on-site branches. It is not clear when exactly it began but due to the disruption, some users may encounter long loading times when they tried to run the MAE app and that’s if the app managed to run at all....

In an update to the feature’s page on its official website, Maybank says that Secure2u activations will be permanently moved from the M2U MY app to the MAE app. This will go into effect starting 26 September. If you’re a frequent user of Secure2u, and you need it activated on a new device, then you should do so as soon as possible. Starting 8 October, Maybank is adding a 12-hour activation period to the feature....

Through the new dedicated MAE app, users can still access to Maybank2u services as per usual. However, the app offers new features which made it much more versatile than the existing Maybank2u app and also extend the capability of MAE e-wallet itself. For example, they can now obtain a dedicated Visa debit card for MAE which allows them to utilise funds from the e-wallet alongside the app’s DuitNow QR-based Scan & Pay feature....
