However, that didn’t stop insiders and leaksters from obtaining noteworthy information regarding the device (albeit unofficially) and sharing it earlier to the world via the internet. Latest of which are new details shared by reliable tipster Roland Quandt of WinFuture. Included are new renderings of the alleged OPPO Find X5 Pro, revealing a design that is somewhat identical to its predecessor. This is especially for its rear camera array, which is seamlessly integrated to the phone’s rear case. The major differences being its asymmetrical camera bump where the bottom half is slanted, and the lack of a fourth camera sensor. It’s also worth noting that this design also corroborates with an earlier leak that was provided by Steve Hemmestoffer (aka Onleaks) back in December. According to Quandt, the upcoming OPPO flagship will feature a curved 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, a single camera cutout on its upper left, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual SIM and eSIM support, Android 12 via ColorOS 12.1, Dolby Atmos enhanced stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC connectivity, and is also rated IP68 in terms of dust and water protection. Under its hood is said to be a 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, along with an Adreno 730 GPU and the aforementioned MariSilicon X imaging processor. In terms of memory capacities, the Find X5 Pro comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but lacks expandable storage support. The leakster did not mention whether OPPO is expected to offer different memory configurations for the device. The leaked specs also reveal that the upcoming flagship will come with an upgraded battery capacity of 5000mAh, which is 500mAh more than its predecessor. Additionally, it also features 80W fast charging support via USB-C, as well as wireless charging capability. As mentioned earlier, the phone is shown to sport a triple camera setup on its back. Quandt says this consists of dual 50MP Sony IMX766 for its main and ultra wide-angle cameras, and a 13MP telephoto camera. If you happen to be a fan of the microscope camera that was included in last year’s OPPO Find X3, you’ll be disappointed to know that it would not make a return on its successor. Meanwhile, housed in the cutout on its display is a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera. It is not known when OPPO plans to officially launch the Find X5 Pro at this time. Quandt speculates that the new flagship smartphone will likely make its debut during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is slated to commence later this month on 28 February 2022.
