To start, you are a lone fireman airdropped into a massive fire. As you’re putting the fires out and rescuing survivors along the way, you stumble into an unknown military base, which may be the secret behind the massive fire. Gameplay promises to be a lot more than just spraying water into fire though. As you go, you’ll also have to deal with backdrafts, exploding walls and sprinklers. Which is nice, as it highlights the realities of the job that are not immediately obvious while making the game more engaging. Also, the description makes sure to mention that it’s not a roguelite, or anything of that sort. Speaking of more engaging, Nuclear Blaze also as a “kid mode” designed for very young kids, or those about the age of three and up as the game’s description says. There’s plenty of customisation as far as difficulty goes as well, with the Steam page also directly referencing Celeste as its inspiration. As mentioned, Nuclear Blaze is made by the guy behind Dead Cells. More specifically, a guy called Sebastien Benard. But he did it under his own studio, Deepnight Games, rather than Motion Twin that’s listed as Deal Cells’ dev. The game’s Steam page says it will be released sometime in fall 2021, but Engadget says the exact date is 18 October. (Source: Steam via Engadget)
