The employees, who work for a social media outfit known as Sapient, wanted to send out a New Year’s message through the brand’s official Twitter account. As many of you know, tweets sent from a iPhone or Android device are noted at the bottom of the tweet. Therefore, it really is no surprise that Huawei flipped its lid when it saw the “via Twitter for iPhone” at the bottom of the tweet. The “offending” tweet has since been removed, but not before screenshots of it were taken and spread across the internet.
The blunder was primarily due to China’s ban of the social media platform. It still can be accessed, but that will require the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
