Pictures of the custom-cooled RTX 2060 was leaked, unsurprisingly, by Videocardz. According to the site, the card is based on NVIDIA’s TU106 GPU architecture. The same architecture used in the RTX 2070. One of the images shows that the card requires a single 8-pin PCIe connector to run, though it is believed that the Founders Edition of the card will only require a 6-pin PCIe connector. Specs-wise, the card will reportedly be running on 6GB of GDDR6 graphics memory, 1920 CUDA cores, and 30 Compute Units, or SM (Simultaneous Multiprocessors). By comparison, the RTX 2070 has 36 Compute Units and 2304 CUDA cores. While the RTX 2080 Ti comes with 68 Compute Units and 4352 CUDA cores.
Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t say if the card comes with RT Cores or Tensor Cores that would allow it to perform real-time ray-tracing. A feature that the card’s premium-grade siblings are able to do. In any case, we’ll just have to wait until NVIDIA itself official pulls back the curtain on the card, whenever that may be.
