According to a tweet by Facebook, the company has resolved the issue that has affected its platform for the past 12 hours or so. Instagram has also tweeted similar notice:

— Instagram (@instagram) July 3, 2019 While WhatsApp itself didn’t provide any individual statement regarding the outage, we assume that it is covered by the tweet posted by Facebook above. An earlier tweet by Facebook Business division revealed that the outage was caused by an issue that was triggered during one of the company’s “routine maintenance operations”.
