Recently, Oscar Isaac appeared on The Today Show to discuss the upcoming Netflix film Triple Frontier, where he stars alongside Ben Affleck and Charlie Hunnam. Naturally, the conversation steered towards Star Wars: Episode IX. While Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the franchise couldn’t reveal much, he did mention that Episode IX will be a definitive conclusion to the Skywalker storyline.

This news may not come as a huge surprise, but one can’t help but wonder what will happen to the new characters introduced in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi? I’m of course talking about Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren? Could they turn up in either Rian Johnson or Benioff & Weiss’ trilogy? Maybe. Having said that, rumours and speculations have suggested that Johnson’s trilogy will explore unchartered territories of the galaxy, while most of us fully expect Benioff & Weiss to take us back to the time of the Old Republic. Everything is up in the air right now, though, we can expect to get some clarification come Star Wars celebration in April. (Source: The Today Show)
