In terms of hardware, both the G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III are fitted with a 20.1MP, 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor and a wide aperture between f/1.8 and f/2.8. Zoom length varies between the two cameras, the G5 X Mark II have an optical zoom length of 5x, while the G7 X Mark III’s is set at 4.2x. On top of that, the G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III are also fitted with Canon’s DIGIC 8 processor. Providing them with “DSLR-like creative expression” for both photography and uncropped 4K video applications.

When it comes to shooting, both the G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III are capable of fast shooting. The pre-shoot setting automatically begins shooting a subject 0.5 seconds before pressing the shutter release button. Further, both cameras have the ability to do high-speed burst shots at 30 shot per second in RAW burst mode, while shooting in JPEG is limited to 20 shots per second. Like all modern cameras, both the G5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III can be charged via USB, and come with typical wireless connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Low Energy Bluetooth. At the time of writing, Canon Malaysia did not specify an availability date or local pricing for the PowerShot G 5 X Mark II and G7 X Mark III.
