Check out some of the screenshots below: But this isn’t just the case in certain “prime locations.” Even GSC 3 Damansara (formerly known as Tropicana City Mall) which is usually the ghost town you go to if you can’t get tickets anywhere else, is almost packed to the brim, with only the front rows remaining.

This makes me even more hyped for Avengers: Endgame. There’s nothing quite like watching an event film in a packed theatre and this is THE event film of this generation. A culmination of a story that has been told over 11 years and 20 odd films. Over in the US, the hype is even crazier as Endgame pre-sales crashed movie sites and broke the internet. So much so that there was a virtual queue that lasted more than an hour. https://twitter.com/thatswattsup/status/1113079370975993863 Popular ticketing company Atom told Deadline Hollywood that the movie sold three times as many tickets in the first hour of pre-sales as it did for Avengers: Infinity War. Which is crazy considering Infinity War is the fourth highest grossing movie of all time both in the US and worldwide. In Malaysia, Infinity War is the highest grossing movie of all time, having raked in over US$17.3 million (~RM70.5 million). It’s still unclear how the pre-sales of Endgame have done locally compared to Infinity War last year (I’ve reached out to a couple of local theatre chains and are awaiting their response, so stay tuned for an update), but assuming that it follows a similar pattern to the US, then there’s little doubt in my mind that the 22nd entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would surpass its predecessor at the Malaysian box office. UPDATE: According to my sources at TGV Cinemas, Endgame has broken TGV cinemas all time pre-sales records. Not only that, but TGV also mentioned that their Endgame pre-sales is 70% higher than their pre-sales of Infinity War. That is a staggering statistic! While this is just information from one major theatre chain, it wouldn’t be unwise to assume that the fourth Avengers movie is doing just as well across the board. Avengers: Endgame synopsis – The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films. Avengers: Endgame is set to hit Malaysian cinemas on 24 April, two days before the US.
