The lower demand also apparently led to the difficulty in anticipating the number of components and phones that the company needs. This is true especially for the lowest end model of the latest iPhone batch, the iPhone XR. The report also stated that Apple has cut its production plan by almost a third of the almost 70 million units that suppliers have been asked to produce. On top of that, the company has apparently informed suppliers last week that it had lowered its production plan for iPhone XR yet again....

The Apple patent describes getting a flat screen, presumably that of an iPhone or iPad, to show 3D images for VR and AR content. But this doesn’t involve having two screens for the way VR and AR headsets work. Instead, it will alternate rows of pixels in a screen, so that one set of pixel rows show one image, and the other shows the second. But as mentioned earlier, the patent only describes the way the screen will simulate the overlapping of two images for the 3D effect....

The Bloomberg report says that Apple had initially thought of releasing the 15-inch MacBook Air device together with the 13-inch model, but decided to lay it aside in order to focus on the 13.6-inch model. The report had also stated that the updated MacBook 14, as well as 16-inch M2-based MacBook Pros, may start to ship by the end of this year, if not in early 2023. These devices, by the way, are expected to be equipped with M2 Max processors that feature 12 CPU cores and up to 38 GPU cores more, than its direct predecessor’s 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores....

According to China Times, JPMorgan Chase analyst Yang Weilun predicts that Apple may release headsets with VR and AR tech. And this is expected to happen as early as the first quarter of 2022. Yang also predicts that the Apple headset will look similar to those made by other brands. Other details regarding the upcoming headset include it having six lenses, and LiDAR capabilities. It’s as of yet still unclear what the six lenses are for....

Specifically, ARM will be removing 32-bit support from the “big” chips. Mo mention of the “LITTLE” ones, which may mean they get to keep the legacy 32-bit support. For context, the company has this chip architecture called “big.LITTLE”. The former is the more powerful one while the latter are the more efficient ones. For most users, this shouldn’t be a problem.
